This awesome program provides substance abuse and prevention treatment for local mothers and mothers-to-be. We donated our time and services to capture some precious newborn photos of sweet baby girl, Riley Star, for marketing purposes to help more women and their babies in our community.

Sarasota Baby Photographer | Rowan’s Future Professions | 6 Month Baby Photography Session

For little miss Rowan’s 6 month milestone session, she wanted to showcase her top three favorite professions! Already preparing for the future, she has great interest in three different career paths; a writer (like her father), a nurse anesthetist (like her mama) and a rockstar (a dream of her own, in spite of her parents).

LOL! We had such a blast playing dress up, and capturing this sweet little girl in all her glory. Her facial expressions were just cracking me up, as she played the parts so well! I can’t wait to see her again for her 12 mos session!

We had so much fun working with Kollene and Mattias of Blonde Cow Photography and their two beautiful little girls!

Unfortunately us photographers spend all of our time behind the camera, so we rarely get to have photos of ourselves! We spent a gorgeous (Sarasota) winter evening playing in the woods, capturing some beautiful moments of one of the sweeeetest families we know!

Mason and his mummy and daddy were visiting all the way from Wales! What’s a better way to celebrate his 6 month milestone than a visit to the beach?? My goodness it was an absolute blast watching him absorb all of the beautiful elements that Sarasota’s Lido Key Beach has to offer!

Adam and Chantelle are crazy about the water and boating in gorgeous sunny Sarasota, so it made perfect sense to include a little Sailor theme to baby Mason’s 6 month photo session! How sweet he was to capture, and those cheeks!!!

Thank you Adam and Chantelle and cheeky little Mason for such a great time on Sarasota’s beautiful Lido Key Beach! It was such a pleasure capturing your beautiful family, we can’t wait to see you again next year!!

Foodie Fridays are all about simple, delicious, full flavored breakfast, snack, lunch and dinner inspiration made by yours truly, Julia and Cassie!

Jump in and make these simple, vegetarian, vegan and raw meals that are sooooooo tasty and exceptionally good for you too! Using as many organic and natural products as possible is certainly one of our passions. We truly believe that what goes in our bodies is the most important thing! We are living proof that it’s possible to eat local, sustainable and organic breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner everyday of the week for $10/day.

Be warned, our recipes that will be featured on this super special part of our blog are FULL FLAVORED and a lot of times that means knock-your-pants-off-spicy and/or a ton of garlic. We are kinda garlic-feens. We will be sure to add notes as we go and cool pictures of each step :)

Oh yeah, our “recipes” are definitely not exact measurements…we do a lot of ‘a splash of this, a handful of that’ and we urge you strongly to get creative, play around with the flavors you like and use these ideas as inspiration. Add what you want, take out what you don’t and make each recipe “to taste.”

Holiday Treat: Cranberry, Apple & Walnut Baked Brie

Wait. Did you read the title of this post? Cranberry Apple and Walnut Baked Brie???? UMMMMM….. Yes please!!

This is an absolutely perfect tasty treat to bring to the holiday party this year, or whip one (or two) up for you and the kids, bring to work to spread some of that good ol’ holiday cheer… Wherever you decide to share this delicious, oozing goodness, be prepared to receive many hugs in return!

Here’s how ya do it…

First thing’s first. Put on some holiday music. Not the annoying kind, but actually good music. Check out our favorite album this year called Holidays Rule. It’s a collection of holiday music by awesome artists including Paul McCartney, Andrew Bird, the Civil Wars, The Shins.. Sweet!

Now, gather your ingredients. Organic cranberries and green apples for their tartness, walnuts for the crunch, brown suger and cinnamon for the sweetness, fresh brie cheese, butter (this may be the ONLY recipe on here with this ingredient.. well, at least until next year!), an egg, and a container of crescent rolls (we love Immaculate for their delicious all natural and organic baked goodies).

Start with the filling. Grab your cranberries, apples and walnuts. Chop up your apples and walnuts into small bite-size pieces.

Throw around 3 tablespoons of butter into a hot pan. We suggest using a Wok because it keeps everything together and hot, creating a nice bubbly concoction a lot faster. On medium heat, throw in the cranberries, apples and walnuts and toss into the butter. Then, add a heaping pile of brown sugar and a couple dashes of cinnamon. Mix evenly and let it simmer, stirring every minute or so. Watch your ingredients turn into a reduced sticky, gooey, oh-so-delicious filling. Open your windows and spread the cheer! Take off the heat and set aside.

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees. Unroll your crescent rolls and break off four connected triangles. Re-connect the pastry by pinching and pressing together the cut lines to create a solid piece of dough. Slice your brie in half, longways. Place one slice of brie onto the middle of the pastry and top with a scoop of filling. Place the second slice of bride on top and add another generous scoop of filing. Finally, top with more brown suger. Hehehehe

Carefully wrap the pastry by pulling each corner together and tying the top with baking twine. Place onto a baking sheet. Crack an egg into a dish and sprinkle in a few dashes of cinnamon. Whip the egg together and brush a light coat onto the pastry puff.

Bake in the oven for about 15 minutes, until golden brown. Set on a plate with some water crackers, fresh cranberries and tree trimmings for a festively styled dish!

With a cheese knife, cut into your baked goodness and enjoy the creamy, oozy, indulgent flavor of the holidays!

Griffin’s 12 Month Apple Harvest | Sarasota Newborn and Baby Photographer

I’ve been working with Griffin since he was in his Momma’s belly! Capturing his 12 month session in the forest was soooo much fun! After this session, I came home saying wow! I am so lucky to call this work!! I had such a blast at a local Sarasota park with Carrie, Eric and 1 year old Griffin!!

For Carrie’s maternity session, we played at the beach. For Griffin’s 6 month session, we went all nautical at Island Park. This time, the Fall cool air inspired a harvesty location and a ‘Johnny Appleseed-esque’ themed 12 month session. We had a ton of fun, playing with apples and laughing our heads off! What a scrumptious little babe he is!

Thank you Carrie, Eric and Griffin for such a wonderful first year of photographing your beautiful family! I can’t wait to work with you again!!
