We are two, fun-loving, enthusiastic, professional chicks that get excited about baby bumps, squishy fresh newborns, all things eco, and most importantly taking care of our awesome clients!

Cassie is the amazingly talented, main photographer chick… You might catch her doing handstands or crazy acrobats “just to get the shot!”
And I’m Julia, the Studio Manager, the business/office chick and second photographer.

Together, we are a dream team, combining all of our creativity and special talents! We both went to school for Hospitality Management, which essentially means we kick-butt at providing true customer service and an awesome experience.

Cassie has had a love of photography since she was young chick-a-dee. While we were in college at UCF in Orlando, her love of photographing babies and capturing people’s love stories turned into something more serious than a hobby. A few years later, we moved to Sarasota, Fl (where Cassie grew up). From a beach town myself (Delray Beach, FL) I absolutely fell in love with the laid back and tranquil feel of Sarasota.

Cassie started Cassie Leah Photography, formally in 2009, she quit her “real job” and went full fledge into what she truly loves. In June, 2012, I left the hotel and jumped into running the business side of things at the CLP Studio. We couldn’t be happier that we get to work with amazing couples in love and bendable, posable, beautiful newborns!

We like to think of ourselves as free-spirited, open-minded ,open-hearted, laid-back and genuine. We’re passionate about, and do the best we can to live a life of health and sustainability. We are ‘eco-foodies…’ we love to cook, prepare and eat delicious local, vegetarian and vegan foods.-Cassie

But don’t let us fool you, Cassie is a major sweet tooth or as I call her “cookie monster” and I am totally all about my Starbucks iced grande vanilla soy no whip mochas! When she’s grumpy, I know she is just hungry and when I’m grumpy, she knows I just need a Starbucks to cheer me up. She’s always there to make us an awesome, yet experimental new dish for dinner while I pour us two large glasses of La Crema Pinot Noir. My new fav…Raw tacos!!! Lucky for me, she really, really enjoys cooking. Lucky for her, I am kinda obsessed with cleaning. The whole “you cook, I clean” thing has kinda become our mantra.

Cassie was born in Australia and I, in Florida so we both feel we were MADE to live in the warmth. We embrace Florida’s tropical climate and I don’t think we could ever be anywhere cold for more than a visit. We love, love, LOVE our summer thunderstorms; they are a HUGE reason we live where we do.

We love to travel together and experience this amazing world. With each new adventure, we grow tremendously as individuals and as a couple. I think it’s awesome how much traveling can open one’s mind and truly extend perspective. It really reminds us that we are all of one human family. Our next trip…5 Central American countries in 5 weeks! Hopefully, we can brush up on our Spanish and we’ll definitely have plenty to take pictures of! We can’t wait to pack our packs (I actually look forward to the meticulous organization and challenge of fitting the most I can in the most strategic way at the lightest weight), jump on a plane and trek through the unknown. It is so fun looking back on the amazing adventures we’ve experienced together and realizing how each of them have shaped us as a couple.

Speaking of adventures…discovering new music together has been a huge part of our lives (we’ve been to Bonnaroo 5 times-quite an amazing experience each time).

When asked what type of music we listen to, we simply answer, “the good kind.” Honestly, we could care less about the genre, if it’s live, we’ll be dancing.

We have extremely supportive families, and although we are far from “normal,” (whatever the heck that means) we surround each other with an abundance of love and always find a reason to celebrate with a few Modelos. Cassie and I have an inspiring relationship …one that I used to think only existed in movies. To me, it’s absolutely perfect. We bring out the best in each other…she cooks and I clean.
